Apple Wheels
Apple recently launched $700 wheels kit for Mac. If you purchase wheel kit at the time of purchasing Mac then you can get discount of $300 but if you buy it separately then it costs $700 as they have to remove $300 feet from Mac which is pre-installed.
Alongwith wheels kit they are also selling feet kit to allow people to swap with wheels if they want to. The kit include 1/4 inch to 4mm hex bit but other tools are required to install the wheels. If you replace feet with wheels then approx 1 inch of height is added to frame.
Some are also using these wheels as skateboard wheels.

The new Chromebook has been launched which is priced at $279 in BestBuy. This Chromebook is a 2-in-1 detachable screen. It’s screen size is 10.1″ and has a long battery life of 10 hours. The Chromebook boots up in just 8 seconds. It also runs Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other application for productivity. It has light weight design weighing around 920g.
It obviously has Playstore so you can play your favorite games in tablet mode. And when you want to work just attach keyboard. Keyboard has a trackpad so no need for mouse.

Mask Vending Machine in Singapore
The huge gaming equipment maker Razer has planned to set up 20 mask vending machines which will give away surgical masks for free. All vending machines will be set up before 1st June in malls and various places.
In order to claim free mask Singaporeans has to use Razer Pay app. This app is used to verify the user and also keep track of the masks. Initially there was so much hate for this idea as they thought this is just their scheme to attract more people in buying their products but Razer declined it and said the app is the only way for them to verify the user.
The vending machine will give masks to everyone who is 16 years or above. Razer says there machine will get refill as soon as possible for people to get them. If anyone forgets to wear mask before going out of their house then, they can get mask from Razer Vending machine.
Chrome will block resource heavy ads
We all know and have experienced that chrome is very resource hungry app. Well chrome has issued this problem and came up with the solution. The solution is to remove resource heavy ads as Google has found out that the problem occurs because ads consume more resource.
How chrome will detect resource heavy ads? Well chrome will set criteria in order to detect resource heavy ads. The criterias are:
- Users do not interact with them
- Uses the main thread for more than 60 seconds in total
- Uses the main thread for more than 15 seconds on any 30 second window
- Uses more than 4MB of network bandwidth
If any of the ad meets these criteria then Chrome will automatically remove that ad. They can also prevent cryptomining which is very resource heavy process. The update will come in August.
Amazon adds “free” Section in Fire TV
Amazon introduced “free” section in Fire TV which shows you all free movies, tv shows, etc. It also shows free content from third party apps like RedBull TV, Pluto TV, IMDB etc.
Amazon is trying to compete with it’s rival Roku. I think it’s a great feature added by Amazon as no one has to waste time looking for free content. With this feature many people can be attracted.
Unreal Engine 5 revealed
The new Unreal Engine 5 has been revealed and it was showcased on PS5. Yes the demo of unreal engine 5 was running on PS5 and it was looking beautiful.
Unreal Engine 5 brings two new technologies. First is Nanite virtualized micropolygon geometry which helps developers to put more geometric detail as the eye can see. This makes world more detailed and more detail means more realism in the games. Second is Lumen which is a global illumination solution that immediately reacts to light and scene changes. Basically it makes reflections infinite and based on the scene the system works accordingly which makes the world more real than ever.
With the reveal of Unreal Engine 5. It showed power of the new engine and as well as power of PS5 along side with it.
Facebook acquires Giphy
Facebook has announced that it has acquired Giphy for $400 million. Giphy is a popular platform for sharing gifs or automated images. Giphy’s most of the traffic was coming from Facebook’s apps and now by officially acquiring Giphy, Facebook might integrate Giphy to it’s app. Giphy will remain free that is confirm and also it’s integration with Snapchat, TikTok,etc will not be changed which was confirmed by the company.
