Have you ever wondered what would our life be when the lockdown is over? I think everybody will take very much care of hygiene, well especially when eating out. I think Zomato has perfect solution for this situation.
What’s their idea?
Well i think their idea is revolutionary and without further ado let’s look at their idea.
So basically they have simple idea. How did COVID-19 spread? By contact. So their idea is to simply make less human contact as possible. As in restaurant many things are common for everyone to touch.
How will they do that?
The answer is by making restaurants digital or modern.
Now for starters(not food related starters), the most thing that is common to touch by every person on restaurant is “The Menu”. So they will remove menu. Then how will you order food without knowing what they are serving. The menu will be shown digitally by just scanning the QR code given on every table. Using your phone you can scan and know what is today’s special, what’s there specialty etc. Now that is a nice idea.
Not only it will limit the contact to menu but it will unlock many new features like you no longer have to ask what’s their specialty and buy the most pricey dish because they will say that dish is their specialty but actually it is the most costly dish. You can also see user’s review who have dined before you.
Then when you are ready to order, you don’t need to call the waiter, you just order in the phone itself and voila your dish will be prepared in the kitchen by your specifications. You can even cancel or update the order in the phone itself. Though the food will still be served by the waiter but as long as they are nicely sanitized and wearing gloves, mask etc, no need to fear.
Now you have completed your lovely dinner, you generally would call the waiter for check and the waiter will bring your bill covered in a cover and guess what this cover is also most touched thing in the restaurant. But instead of that we will pay the bill via app limiting the contact. Well this part is done by many of us nowadays. As we pay for anything via Paytm, Phonepe or any other app you use to pay. So this change is very familiar to us, especially the collegians.
Now after paying you head out through door. And yeah Door handles are also most touched object in the restaurant. So Zomato will instruct restaurants to sanitize or clean the door handles every now and then, or better make a man open or close the door like in 5 star hotels.
Conclusion
Well according to me this would be a huge change in restaurants and a beneficiary change, as restaurant’s hygiene is a question mark. Zomato also tells that they will train the restaurant’s employees about the hygiene. If this thing happens, Digital India is not far away from us.
